About this material

ABS is a terpolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene. It balances rigidity, impact strength and surface gloss, processes over a wide window and takes secondary operations well, which makes it suitable for small and mid-size structural and cosmetic parts. Yilong holds general-purpose injection, high-impact and heat-resistant grades covering the mainstream requirements of appliance, automotive and electrical customers.

Typical applications

Appliance housings and panels, automotive interior parts, electrical and electronic enclosures, office equipment and toys, consumer goods. Parts judged on appearance usually take a high-gloss general-purpose grade; parts that carry load usually take a high-impact grade.

  • Flow against wall thickness：thin-wall or long-flow parts want a high-flow grade; thicker parts can run medium or low flow to protect impact strength.
  • Impact level：structural and load-bearing parts should take a high-impact grade rather than trading toughness away for flow.
  • Surface finish：cosmetic parts are judged on gloss and colour consistency, so approve a sample before the first production batch.
  • Secondary operations and heat：painting, electroplating or exposure to heat means confirming the grade and the process together beforehand.
  • Compliance：appliance and toy customers need ROHS and REACH confirmed; test documents are available on request.
